THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM (ECS)
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is present in all vertebrates, and its main purpose is to regulate bodily homeostasis—biological harmony in response to changes in the environment. In humans, this system has been developing for a long time — over 500 million years. The ECS produces natural cannabis-like molecules in our bodies, regulating everything from relaxation to eating, sleeping, inflammation and even cognitive function. Basically your ECS is responsible for making sure your entire body is working optimally.
Research initially suggested endocannabinoid receptors were only present in the brain and nerves, but committed researchers have found that the receptors are present throughout the body, including our skin, immune cells, bone, fat tissue, liver, pancreas, skeletal muscle, heart, blood vessels, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract. We now know the endocannabinoid system is involved in a wide variety of processes, including pain, memory, mood, appetite, stress, sleep, metabolism, immune function, and reproductive function. Endocannabinoids are arguably one of the most widespread and versatile signaling molecules known to man.

BRAINCannabidiol (CBD) is one of over 80 chemical compounds know as cannabinoids. Cannabinoids found in CBD bind to our cell’s cannabinoid receptors. While CBD does NOT contain THC — the primary psychoactive compounds in marijuana — its essential fatty acids and globule edestin proteins (similar to that of human blood plasma) feed our cells and provide a sense of overall relief. Consuming CBD, an agonist that works like a key to our cell’s locks, helps facilitate the larger endocannabinoid system (ECS) and provides myriad benefits including neuroprotection and stress recovery. An alternative to traditional pharmacology, CBD serves to alleviate anxiety, depression, and regulate sleep.

BODYIt’s no wonder that presenting our bodies with an increased dose of cannabinoids produces a favorable result. Cannabidiol (or CBD for short) is an ideal superfood, containing a wealth of phytonurients and healthy fats. CBD is a rich source of gamma-linolic acid, an omega-6-fatty acid, useful for restoring hormone balance. Rich in a variety of plant sterols, compounds found in CBD have been shown to reduce inflammation and pain. Phytonutrients and antioxidant-rich molecules within improve hair & skin, strengthen the immune system, ease arthritic pain, reduce acne, aid in cardiovascular health, and relieve nausea.

SOULCBD helps harmonize the mind-body connection. Achieving this balance is a quick way of delivering fast-acting and powerful relief while distancing the body and brain from the endless side-effects of traditional prescription medication. Delivering immunomodulatory and antipsychotic effects, ingesting cannabinoids found in CBD through numerous time-honored methods, helps us achieve neural stability, and therefore increases our ability to self-preserve. Our mission is to help everyone become more present, calm and mindful — to improve the feeling of NOW, and the richness of being on life’s journey.
